What have year 6 been up to?
Year 6 have recently had the good fortune to spend a day in the company of John Conyard, a renowned archaeologist who specialises in, among other things, creating replicas of artefacts found from many different periods of the ancient world. History was brought to life for the children as John shared his vast knowledge of the Stone, Bronze and Iron Age periods, aided by his huge array of incredibly authentic looking and feeling 'ancient' items.
Morley Academy Transition
Year 6 recently took part in a transition activity at Morley Academy, one of several we will do this year. These short sessions allow the children to become familiar with the look and feel of a school setting so that leaving primary and going to high school is bit less of a daunting experience! On this occasion we took part in lessons in geography and ICT, in which we learned about the varied cultures and impressions we have of Africa and how graphics are created using different levels of pixellation.
