Religious Education
At Birchfield we follow the locally agreed syllabus of Leeds when considering the teachings of RE. This ensures our children are taught a wide spread curriculum, enabling them to understand and support the multi-cultural society that we belong to. By recognising other faiths, cultures and traditions the children of Birchfield are becoming ambassadors of equality who are sociable and considerate members of society. We have many on-going links with the community, including the Churches in Gildersome and Leeds Grand Mosque in Burley. These links help us offer the children new experiences and contribute to society in charitable ways. The Birchfield F.A.M.I.L.Y values and skills developed in RE, are invaluable across life to enable friendships, working relationships and travel. We are proud that the children of Birchfield share the unanimous view of equality, and we are confident that this will help them to succeed throughout their lives as global citizens.
